I mean, weren't all of you a little underwhelmed by the teaser for Cameron's new movie? Like this is what he waited 12 years for technology to catch up to his vision for? So he could make a CGI movie that doesn't even look like an A-list Pixar movie but more like an also-ran from Dreamworks? So instead I bring you another trailer that unspooled yesterday. Yes, it's from a troubled movie that's been pushed back twice, now. But you can't deny that this is a heckuva teaser. Check it out after the jump.

Movie Trailer: The Brothers Bloom
by Tony Dayoub

Here's the trailer for a film from the director of Brick, Rian Johnson. The Brothers Bloom is scheduled to open on October 24th.
It stars Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac), and Rinko Kikuchi (Babel).
The story is about two brothers, con-men, who decide to bilk an heiress. But they didn't count on her addiction to the illicit thrills she witnesses, or the attraction developing between one brother and their mark.

Movie Trailer: Burn After Reading
by Tony Dayoub

Here's the trailer for the Coen Brothers' upcoming film, Burn After Reading, scheduled to open on September 12th.
This one should be less in the vein of their Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men, and more like Raising Arizona. It's about two gym employees who try to blackmail an ex-CIA official after finding his diary.
The stellar cast includes George Clooney (Leatherheads), Brad Pitt (Babel), Frances McDormand (North Country), John Malkovich (Eragon), Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton), and Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under).

Movie Trailer: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
by Tony Dayoub

Here's the trailer for a new documentary, which like yesterday's trailer, gives us a look at Vice President Dick Cheney's rise to power.
Oops, it's actually the trailer to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which gives us a look at Lord Voldemort's rise to power.
Can you see how I could have confused the two? The movie is set for release on November 21.

Movie Trailer: Oliver Stone's W.
by Tony Dayoub

Here's the trailer for Oliver Stone's new movie W., about the George W. Bush presidency, coming this fall.
The all-star cast includes Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men) as "Dubya", Richard Dreyfuss (Mr. Holland's Opus) as Dick Cheney, and other luminaries you'll recognize. But I'll let you see for yourself, as that's part of the trailer's charm.
The movie is set for an October 17 release.

TV Trailer: Caprica
by Tony DayoubIf you've seen the current incarnation of Battlestar Galactica, then you know it does for science fiction drama what The Dark Knight does for comic book movies. It elevates it past its genre trappings to reflect on today's world events.
But for those who don't buy into spaceships and the like, for those who like their drama a little more grounded, comes a prequel called Caprica. More of a multi-generational story of rivalry between two families, the Adams and the Graystones, in the vein of Dynasty or the current Dirty Sexy Money, Caprica is set fifty years earlier.
It tells of how the events now playing out on Galactica first began in a setting not too different from our own. Starring as Joseph Adams is Esai Morales (NYPD Blue, La Bamba) and as Daniel Graystone, Eric Stoltz (Pulp Fiction, Mask). Also cast so far are Polly Walker (Rome) and Paula Malcolmson (Deadwood).
No word yet on the exact premiere date, but it will appear on the Sci Fi channel. I'll update you with more information as it becomes available.

Movie Trailer: Watchmen
by Tony Dayoub

The release of The Dark Knight today, and the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, bring us the start of a new wave of publicity promoting next year's genre films.
One to definitely keep your eye on is Watchmen, Zack Snyder's adaptation of the graphic novel widely considered to be one of the best of all time, and in fact, one of the best pieces of literature of the last hundred years (by Time Magazine, no less).
Click on the picture above to be directed to the revamped website, where you can see the new trailer, and learn more about the story, relatively unknown by the mainstream.
Let me know what you think of it.

Movie Trailer: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
by Tony Dayoub

This is probably the best trailer I've seen for a movie since the one for Forrest Gump. Don't take that to mean anything. I ended up passionately hating that film. But I do know many out there that consider it their favorite movie.
I have high hopes for this one. It reunites Brad Pitt with his greatest director, David Fincher, who directed him in Se7en and Fight Club. Based on the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, click on the picture above for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This one's been around for a little bit. I had to share it because the visuals are great, AND it's the first movie from the Wachowski brothers since The Matrix trilogy
.
